Anna Krzanowska - born in 1984, is a Polish visual artist. Her work is filled with energy, color, and emotion. She is a graduate of the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. She studied painting in the studios of Professor Stanisław Rodziński and Professor Grzegorz Bednarski. In 2010, she defended her diploma in the studio of Professor Adam Brincken. She lives and works in Warsaw. Krzanowska intertwines abstraction with figuration. In her portfolio, we find various motifs, from self-portraits to the human body or animality, which she filters through her own emotions and experiences, with the underlying theme related to human psychology. The aftermath of the artist's activity is emotionally mature creativity, which is an element of artistic expression and self-therapy.
ARTIST STATEMENT:
Painting is my sanctuary. An internal space where I feel safe. My creativity is very personal. It focuses on human psychology - its mechanisms, traumas, and borderline experiences. I would like the viewer to see themselves in my works. I believe that everyone perceives the world through the prism of their own experiences.
Everything is a sum of influences, interpenetration, an impulse to the next painting. I am always alert in search of inspiration. Torn between different ideas. I cannot restrain the creative process. I am inspired by everything from Renaissance masters to writings on walls. I cannot keep up with my own head and the insatiable appetite for painting.
